Invertebrate training courses
We now offer the expert knowledge test according to § 2 TierSchG and § 11 TierSchG for invertebrates (spiders, scolopendra, scorpions, millipedes, cockroaches, woodlice, mantids, phasmids).
The Animal Welfare Act (TierSchG) serves the purpose of protecting the life and well-being of animals, based on human responsibility for them as fellow creatures. However, anyone who keeps, cares for, or is responsible for caring for an animal is subject to a duty to ensure that it is kept in a manner that is appropriate to the species. This applies to ALL animals!
A notice:
If you exhibit invertebrates (commercially), you require a permit from your local veterinary authority. As part of the permit process, you must regularly demonstrate that you have the necessary knowledge and skills to care for the animals.
If you require a permit for the "Invertebrates" certificate of competency, please clarify in advance with your local authority whether the training and examination are recognized. The examination for participants who require a permit according to Section 11 of the Animal Welfare Act (TierSchG) will be conducted in the presence of an official veterinarian.
The training program is offered exclusively at our training and competence center in Sontra.
Our expert examiner Peter Wischnewski will be happy to assist you as a competent contact person if you have any questions.
Training dates can be found directly on the website of the Expertise and Competence Centre WerraTerraristik in Sontra.
